Who is responsible
Wolf Cut (wolfcut.co.uk) is published by Zaali Panjakidze, Zgvisubani 3 mikro, 5 kvartali, building 15, 6 sadarbazo, 6th floor, flat 110, Tbilisi, Georgia. Zaali Panjakidze is the controller of the personal data described on this page. Questions about this policy go to editor@wolfcut.co.uk.
The short version
Wolf Cut is a reading site. There is no login, no comment form and no newsletter signup. The site is funded by advertising, and advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies and similar technologies on your device. This page explains what is collected, why, and how to control it.
What is collected automatically
The servers that deliver these pages record standard request logs: the IP address the request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. They exist to keep the site running and to identify abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold. Legal basis for this processing under the EU and UK GDPR: legitimate interest in running and securing the site.
Requests reach the site through Cloudflare, which operates the network in front of it and processes the same request data in order to route traffic and filter attacks.
Advertising and cookies
This site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers, local storage and similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ads, and to detect fraud. Where you consent, they also use them to personalise ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Where you do not consent, or where the law requires it, you see non-personalised ads, which use the content of the page you are reading and your general location rather than your browsing history.
- Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its advertising services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can switch off personalised advertising in your Google account settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other companies at https://www.aboutads.info/choices (United States), https://www.youronlinechoices.com (Europe) and https://youradchoices.ca (Canada).
- Your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking them does not stop ads from being shown, but the ads will be less relevant.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message lets you accept, reject or adjust the use of cookies for advertising. Your choice can be changed at any time through the privacy and cookie settings link on the site. Legal basis for advertising cookies: your consent.
The site uses Google Analytics 4 for anonymous usage statistics: in the EU, the EEA and the UK only after you accept in the banner, from other countries from your first visit until you switch it off (see Analytics below). Social media widgets are not embedded.
How long data is kept
Server logs are kept for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted. Data held by Google and Cloudflare is governed by their own policies and retention periods.
Who receives data
Google (advertising), Cloudflare (network and security) and the hosting provider that runs the servers. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and in Georgia, where the publisher lives. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, the providers rely on their own transfer mechanisms.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw consent at any time and to receive a copy of your data. You can also complain to your national data protection authority. Write to editor@wolfcut.co.uk and we will answer within 30 days. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can ask us what we hold and can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising through the Google and industry opt-out tools linked above. Residents of Canada have corresponding rights under Canadian privacy law. The processing described here is also subject to the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). If you visit from the EU, the EEA or the UK, it starts only after you accept in the banner; until then the analytics script stays unloaded and nothing is stored for it. From other countries, it starts with your first page view, and you can switch it off at any time with the link below.
Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, roughly where a visit comes from (country or region, derived from the connection) and which device, browser and screen size is used. IP addresses are not stored. The measurement is not used for advertising.
The measurement sets the cookies _ga and ga followed by an identifier of this website. In the EU, the EEA and the UK the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the equivalent UK GDPR provision). Elsewhere no consent is required by law, and we measure on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used.
Google LLC may process the data in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
You can withdraw your consent or switch the measurement off at any time with the link below, or by deleting this site's cookies and stored data in your browser. Measurement stops after that.
